Redevelopment in the “Western Core”

In late 2014, Florida based City Electric Supply purchased the former Belo HQ at 400 S. Record Street located near the Omni Hotel. With plans to occupy about one-third of the building and lease out the remainder, City Electric Supply began construction this week in what will be a big win for the area. Improvements¬†for the building include interior renovation, a new gym, large shared conference center and rooftop garden. In addition, former Mansion Chef Bruno Davaillon will open a ground floor restaurant. Current quoted rental rates on 400 Record are $25/SF +Electricity which should draw interest from many office tenants facing “sticker shock” in the Arts District, the West End and of course, Uptown.

In addition to the new restaurants that have opened/are scheduled to open at the Omni Hotel such as: Biergarten, Coal Vines, Little Katana & Coal Vines, this project is great for the Western Core of Downtown Dallas in that it will bring new energy and interest to this section of Downtown.  Completion is scheduled for Q1 of 2017.
